HP error 79 Service error

A firmware or memory error on HP LaserJet printers, often caused by a corrupt print job or a faulty memory module.

How to fix it

1. Turn the printer off, unplug the network or USB cable, and turn it back on.
2. Clear stuck jobs from the print queue on the computers that use it.
3. If you added extra memory, remove it and test.
4. Update the firmware.

Is it worth fixing?

Usually fixable. If it returns with no network cable plugged in, the formatter board needs service.
