A general firmware or internal error, common on HP OfficeJet printers.

How to fix it

1. With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
2. Unplug it from the wall too and wait 60 seconds.
3. Plug it straight into the wall (no power strip) and back into the printer. It should turn on by itself.
4. Once it is ready, install any firmware update offered in HP Smart or on the printer screen.

Is it worth fixing?

A power reset clears it most of the time. If not, contact HP: it can be a board fault.
